How prayer times are calculated in Nigeria
Prayer calculation parameters in Nigeria follow the Egyptian General Authority of Survey standard. Fajr enters at twilight when the sun is 19.5° below the horizon, while Isha is marked when the sun descends to 17.5° below the horizon. Asr timing is established by the standard jurisprudence rule, commencing once an object’s shadow equals the sum of its own height and the noon shadow length.
A single time zone is kept throughout Nigeria with no daylight saving changes, ensuring that every city page displays accurate local time. We list 30 Nigerian cities, featuring major hubs like Lagos, Kano, Ibadan, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. Every city page calculates daily prayer times and the compass direction toward the Qibla using that municipality’s exact coordinates.
